Bold Insight and The Office of Experience team up for 2nd annual charity event

Focusing on designing and delivering great experiences, Bold Insight, a user experience (UX) research agency, and The Office of Experience (OX), an experience design and digital innovation consultancy, co-hosted a charity event in Chicago on October 23. An annual event, the casino-themed night provided winners with the opportunity to select their favorite charity to receive donations from Bold Insight and OX.

This is the third casino-themed charity event we’ve hosted, and it keeps getting better every year. Our goal was to design a networking opportunity that would encourage lively discussion about UX and design topics in a fun environment that aligned with our company culture. We do our best to incorporate a charitable component to our events because it’s a Bold Insight core value and attendees appreciate being a part of it.” said Pamela Stoffregen-Gay, Director of Bold Insight. 

Donations ranging from $150 to $300 were given to the following charities, as selected by attendees: RefugeeOne, World Bicycle Relief, Planned Parenthood, Wounded Warrior, Alzheimer’s Association, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, National Cancer Association, and Mae Tao Clinic.

Bold Insight hosts South African user experience consultancy, Mantaray, to present on-the-ground research in free event

 

Africa has some of the fastest growing economies in the world, but organizations designing next generation tech for this market often fail on their first attempt. Tackling this topic, Bold Insight hosts Helga Stegmann of Mantaray (South Africa). Stegmann will discuss how companies can design products that African markets will adopt, and some of the challenges her agency has seen over the last 15 years.

Stegmann will present her team’s findings on market nuances across Sub-Saharan African countries. In particular, she will explore how Africans embrace new technology in banking and healthcare, use trust and social networks, and all this while Africa’s tech infrastructure advances.  In many ways, Africa leads the world in tech adoption and usage.  What can be learned in African markets that we can use to understand other global markets? If built to succeed in Africa, can organizations ensure product success in other markets?

What can we learn from the next billion users??

Focusing on designing and delivering great experiences, Bold Insight, a user experience research agency, and The Office of Experience (OX), an experience design and digital innovation consultancy, co-hosted a charity event in Chicago on November 13. Similar to a Bold Insight event in June, the casino-themed night provided winners with the opportunity to select their favorite charity to receive donations from Bold Insight and OX.

This event is a win-win.  We are able to make a contribution to a variety of non-profit organizations and bring together UX leaders in the community.  It’s a chance to connect professionally and have a little fun, while at the same time donate to worthy causes,” said Robert Schumacher, Managing Director of Bold Insight. 

Donations ranging from $150 to $300 were given to the following charities: Project C.U.R.E.Hearts to Art,  Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, Children’s Place Association, Gi Gi’s Play house, One Million Degrees, Hope For The Day, Chicago Public Schools through The New Chance: Arts & Literature Fund, and Friends of the Chicago River.

10 charities come out on top at Bold Insight’s casino night

Bringing together local user experience (UX) leaders, Bold Insight hosted a charity event in Oak Brook on June 19. Unique to other casino-themed events, attendees played with Bold Insight’s money to benefit charities they chose. Winners were the top chip holders at the end of the evening.

“Bringing UX leaders together to support worthwhile charities was a different forum. Throw in great food with gambling and we saw a new level of energy to these conversations,” said Gavin Lew, Managing Director of Bold Insight.

Donations ranging from $100 to $300 were given to the following charities chosen by the winners: West Suburban Humane Society, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, RefugeeOne, Wounded Warrior Project, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Lupus Foundation of America, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, World Wildlife Fund, and Chicago Children’s Charities.

Korey Johnson, Managing Director of Bold Insight, added, “We hope to do this again soon and donate even more to make a profound impact on our community. I very much enjoy these events because they remind me that although UX and human factors research have proliferated over the past decade, our professional community is extremely tight-knit. When you get us all together, new bonds are quickly formed, and great ideas emerge.”
