Senior UX Researcher

With over 10 years of research experience, Abby has led the execution of clinical and behavioral health research projects from conception to peer-reviewed publication. She has a passion for leveraging her strong skills in data collection system design, data management, and data cleaning to conduct research yielding novel solutions that positively impact diverse communities. Abby has an MA in Women’s and Gender Studies from DePaul University and a BS in Psychology from Florida State University.

Although I am Type A, all of my hobbies are creative based: I play drums, love karaoke, and enjoy doing improv!

Your favorite part of working at Bold Insight

Everyone here is so collaborative, hard-working, and fun! Bold Insight truly embodies a “work hard, play hard” mentality!

In your spare time (or if you had spare time), you would absolutely do this:

Spend the entire day on Lake Michigan on my yacht (aka my inflatable kayak). If the weather and water are warm, that’s where you’ll find me!

Your favorite city in the world is...and why?

Chicago! I saw Ferris Bueller’s Day Off when I was 5 years old while living in Florida and that was it for me.

You cannot start the day without doing this:

Cup of strudel cake coffee from my favorite coffee shop in Lakeview, Chicago.

Your ultimate celebrity dinner party guest list would include:

Just me and “Weird Al” Yankovic. I am his biggest fan. I’d love to pick his brain about comedy and music theory.

Long-term personal or professional goal?

To be fluent in ASL. My husband and I are taking classes and have really enjoyed learning not only how to sign, but about the deaf community and their culture.

Any other facts to share?

My main hobby (outside of research!) is doing sketch comedy around Chicago with my sketch group, Needless Productions.
