State legislatures, governors, and administrative agencies across the country are taking steps to eliminate access to gender-affirming care, with 19 states passing laws, most targeting transgender minors. To address this inequity, Bold Insight recently expanded its Equitable Healthcare Access benefit to reimburse travel expenses for the employee, their dependent, and a support person who live in states that restrict gender-affirming services. The process to access the benefit is designed to protect the employee’s right to privacy and supports multiple trips if needed.
“We are committed to providing our employees with equal access to our healthcare benefits,” said Yvette Granger, Managing Partner of Bold Insight. “As our management team began to see laws passed in states where our employees live and work that limited healthcare decisions, we knew we had to act. We already had a policy in place to address access to reproductive care, so it was an easy and unanimous decision to include gender-affirming care.”
Bold Insight supports employees’ rights to make healthcare decisions that are right for them and their families and will continue to design benefits that facilitate this freedom of choice.
