Case study
Streamlining developer tools for better business performance
Challenge
A multinational tech company wanted to improve how game and app developers manage the business side of their products, particularly around monetization. Their developer platform needed to better support a range of users with different roles and goals, from engineers to marketers.
Solution
We ran remote, moderated usability sessions with a medium-fidelity prototype of the new management tool. Participants included developers, QA leads, marketing managers, and product managers from small to mid-sized companies across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Each session focused on how users navigated the platform and completed key business tasks, including those related to performance monitoring and revenue tracking.
Impact
Our study revealed how different roles approach the same tasks and where the tool’s structure created unnecessary friction. Some users struggled to locate key features or misunderstood performance metrics, which could lead to costly delays or missed opportunities.
Bold Outcomes
- Identified core navigation issues that impacted task success
- Mapped user needs and workflows across multiple job roles
- Flagged business-critical pain points in monetization tracking
- Delivered UX recommendations to improve structure and findability
Result
The client used our insights to redesign the platform’s information architecture and navigation flow, making the tool more intuitive, role-adaptive, and effective for teams managing digital products around the world.
