Actively involved in the medical device human factors community, Korey Johnson, Managing Director of Bold Insight, will chair a session in the Medical and Drug-Delivery Devices Track at this year’s International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care. Offering human factors/ergonomics (HF/E) perspectives on healthcare human factors, technology, and patient safety, the Symposium draws HF/E professionals and healthcare product and provider communities to better focus future HF/E efforts. The session Johnson will chair tackles usability in this heavily regulated space.
Held on March 27 in Boston, Massachusetts, Johnson will moderate three presentations, including, Testing in medical device acquisition: Beyond usability, Order effect when comparing usability of two telehealth remote monitoring solutions, and Can we combine human factors validation and clinical testing to save time and resources. These presentations promise to provide a wide range of perspectives with presenters from non-profit, military, private, and academic sectors.
With a deep expertise in medical device research, the Bold Insight team frequently presents at healthcare-related events and contributes to industry standards. “It is critical for those with any human factors-related responsibilities to engage with the community at events such as the HFES Health Care Symposium. The wealth of knowledge and experience applying human factors and usability engineering to the development of medical devices shared at this event and others like it is invaluable” says Johnson.
