Bold Insight to present on AI at STRAT USA 2024

 This month, Gavin Lew, Managing Partner at Bold Insight, will speak on the crucial role of trust in artificial intelligence (AI) technology at STRAT USA 2024. The conference, which will gather seasoned design and product professionals, is centered around two key themes this year: demonstrating the value that strategic design and research bring to business and strategically integrating AI into both products and team processes to determine the most impactful use cases for AI. 

Lew’s presentation, AI Depends on Trust: Designing for Humanized and Relatable Engagement, will emphasize the necessity of incorporating trust as the foundation of AI-enabled product design, rather than an afterthought in the final stages. He will explore how addressing AI concerns, critically evaluating AI outputs, and balancing task delegation between humans and AI is essential to creating products on which users can rely and relate. 

“Building trust in AI isn’t just about fine-tuning the final product,” said Lew. “It’s about embedding human needs and values into the design process from the start, ensuring that AI functions effectively and resonates with users on a deeper level.” 

The talk will draw on key concepts from Lew’s book, AI and UX: Why Artificial Intelligence Needs User Experience, co-authored by Robert Schumacher. Lew will also discuss the role of empathy in humanizing AI interactions, offering a broader perspective on AI’s impact on society. His insights will give attendees the tools and questions necessary to foster trust in AI-driven products.
