This month, Tangível, Bold Insight’s Portuguese UXalliance partner, will host World Usability Day (WUD) Portugal, a conference that highlights the importance of designing products and services that are easy to use, accessible, and centered on the human experience. Observed globally each year on the second Thursday in November, this year marks the 20th anniversary of WUD. It also coincides with the 20-year milestone of the UXalliance, a global network of 26 UX research and design firms across 29 countries.
In Portugal, the celebration will feature a two-day event where attendees will learn, exchange ideas, and explore success stories. Bold Insight Managing Partner Gavin Lew will present Beyond faster horses: Rethinking innovation through UX research, debunking preconceived ideas about innovation and demonstrating how user-centered design can generate real value, even in the most challenging contexts.
“Strategic research is at the heart of product design innovation,” said Lew. “WUD reminds us that progress depends on listening and connecting across cultures. The UXalliance network embodies that spirit by bringing together local experts who share knowledge and perspective so that products reflect the people who use them.”
Lew will draw from real experiences, sharing case study topics such as accessibility, universal design, AI, and the evolution of digital interfaces. He brings a global perspective to the topic, having recently presented at the UXMasterclass in Bengaluru, India, an event organized by the UXalliance that showcased thought leadership from experts around the world.
