This month, EPIC will host EPIC Learning Week, an annual week of virtual learning to build expertise and explore emerging challenges with an innovative community of change-makers. Bold Insight team members will present three sessions that span some of the most pressing topics in user experience (UX) research and design today: the erosion of factual precision in an AI-driven media landscape, what gets lost when creative production is reduced to a single prompt, and the practical realities of conducting multilingual research at speed.Â
On Wednesday, May 6, Bold Insight Partner Kirsten Bruckbauer joins Will Page, Economist and Author of Tarzan Economics, for Check your facts: interpretation and precision in today’s AI and media ecosystems. The session examines what it means to make and verify factual claims as people increasingly use AI systems to learn, write, research, and form beliefs, and what new structures and incentives might counterbalance the interpretive drift AI perpetuates.Â
Also on May 6, Bold Insight Director and EPIC Board Member Lindsey DeWitt Prat, PhD joins Bhautik Joshi, R&D Lead and Principal Applied Scientist at Canva, and Karl Mendonca, Artist, Educator, and Researcher, for It’s not one shot: automation and craftwork in creative production. The session challenges the framing that generative AI reduces creative production to a single prompt, arguing instead that every act of creative production is a path through layers of iteration, selection, and judgment, and that skipping those layers homogenizes output and obscures where craft actually lives.Â
On Thursday, May 7, Bold Insight Director Andres Sulleiro and UX Researcher Katia Serralheiro, present Designing digital workflows for global research. The session tackles the distinct and consequential differences between interpretation, transcription, and translation in multilingual research, offering practical guidance on when and how to use live versus post-hoc interpretation, human versus machine transcription, and AI-assisted translation.Â
EPIC Learning Week will take place May 4–8, 2026. Sessions are free for EPIC members. Register here to attend.  Â
